A Cultural Adventure: The Shaman's Perspective

Come participate in an interactive cultural presentation and discussion led by Ecuadorian cultural leader and shaman, Alejandro Aguavil. Translation will be provided by returned Peace Corps volunteers Clay Martin and Ryan Dibala, who befriended Alejandro during their service in Ecuador.

Alejandro will discuss his life growing up in the lowland jungles of Ecuador, the meaning and significance of his ancestral heritage, his perspective on his visit to the USA and how globalization has affected his culture.

Other topics discussed will include agriculture, deforestation/reforestation, shamanism, ayahuasca, community tourism, worldview and much more.

Join us after the presentation for a short ceremony led by Alejandro. He will also have jewelry and crafts made by his family for purchase (cash only).

This event is open to all ages and will be in both Spanish and English. Entry is free, but donations are accepted, many of which will go to reforestation efforts in Alejandro’s village. Please RSVP, share the event and invite your friends!
