We are pleased to be hosting some amazing events in 2016.  As a space for our members, our events are now only brought to you by Green Spaces Members.  Many of our events are also member only to strengthen our community and our knowledge within our community.  Events are now planned a quarter in advance.  Please check out our events calendar to learn more.  If you are interested in joining our community of socially conscious, green and entrepreneurial individuals, you are welcome to join as a clubhouse member.

Paul Polizzotto, Founder and President of CBS EcoMedia, has built a very successful career by discovering and developing great ideas.  In the process, he’s developed a 4-question litmus test that can help entrepreneurs evaluate the mettle, and the promise, of their latest business propositions.

Paul grew up in Southern California in the late 70s and early 80s, and spent much of his time surfing in the polluted waters of Santa Monica Bay. As a result, he suffered from chronic upper respiratory infections, sore throats, and cuts that wouldn’t heal.

He realized that one source of the toxins was the contract cleaning industry. Operating illegally, contractors cleaned parking lots and industrial sites, disposing of the run-off and detergents in the storm drain system, thereby contaminating the river and ocean waters into which they feed.

What to Know about B Corporation Certification

Walk the TalkB Corp status--granted by B Lab, a Wayne, Pa., nonprofit--has become a badge of honor for more than 750 socially and environmentally conscious businesses since 2007. Some of the bigger names to nab the certification include Ben & Jerry's, Patagonia, Etsy, Warby Parker and New Belgium Brewing. In some states companies can up the ante by becoming a Benefit Corporation, a legal entity that requires business owners to consider employees, community and the environment when making decisions, rather than being beholden solely to profits....
