#OwnYourImpact Wednesday, April 8th

#OwnYourImpact event Wednesday at Green Spaces Doors open at 5.  Talks from 6-8pm

Most of us want to have impact in our community, but often it can feel overwhelming to know where to begin! Two Denver Social Enterprise businesses, Hope Tank and Joy Lab CO, are hosting a series of speak and shares to help individuals and businesses connect to meaningful opportunities to have real impact for social change.

For our first in the series, we are putting a spotlight on Veterans, and how we can support the people who have served our country. You will hear about trainings, products, events, and more. We look forward to helping you to connect the dots towards Owning Your Impact.

Interested in learning more about becoming Certified Green?

As a member of Green Spaces, all of our members commit to becoming Certified Green through the City of Denver.  Our coworking space's green initiatives include solar power on our roof, thoughtfully sourcing products in our space, providing alternative transportation options such as car sharing with Zipcar and shared bicycles and replacing all of our lightbulbs with LED energy saving bulbs.  These initiatives allow members to become certified much easier with their business based out of Green Spaces.  We are also partnering with MilkCrate, a innovative app, for sustainable, local living to promote our members once they are certified green. Come and join us this Thursday for Lunch with Certifiably Green Denver and MilkCrate if you are interested in learning how your business can become certified green as a Green Spaces member.  Please RSVP as lunch will be provided to jennie@greenspaces.com.

Eden Oaks Designer Woodware Custom Built Furniture at Green Spaces

Eden Oaks Designer Woodware has provided us beautiful wood that is solid red and white Appalachian oak butcher block. This raw wood has been salvaged from a Tennessee lumber yard and is environmentally-responsible green material. Our custom built reclaimed solid wood conference room table was delivered yesterday.  On Thursday a 30 foot reclaimed bartop from Eden Oaks will be installed in the Walnut Lounge in front of the windows featuring beautiful views of the mountains.  Coworkers can work standing and enjoy the views or sit and work.  Stay tuned for pictures later this week.

6 ways to find the right coworking spot for you

Two founding members of Denver Coworks, a local alliance of co-working spaces, offered their tips for selecting the right space for you. 1. Try it first. Every coworking space has its own vibe, so check out as many as possible before making a decision, said Jennie Nevin, founder of Green Spaces. Almost all offer free day passes for potential members — there's no guilt if you try them all.

2. Visit on multiple days. Some co-working spaces also offer longer, two-week trial periods — if that's the case, visit the space on multiple days, Nevin said. At every space, some days are busier than others, and it's not a bad idea to see things at various days and times.

3. Decide what you need. All co-working spaces offer the basics — wireless Internet, tables, chairs, printers, coffee, said Craig Baute, founder of Creative Density. But there are some differences in membership plans and additional amenities. Ask yourself: How often do you plan to co-work? Do you need a permanent desk or private office? If you'll use meeting rooms frequently, how many hours per month are included? Would you be better served by a niche space with specialized offerings?
